Trout will move into slower deeper water where they can hold without using too much valuable energy. The water is cold so they're not going to move too far to intercept your bug. Deep and Slow is typically the recipe for success, even on warmer days. These proven patterns fished slowly and methodically work well this time of year and into the Spring shoulder season.  I find it best to keep my drifts short to keep my flies at depth. Play around with your settings and find the zone. Remember, it's winter and it's just good to be on the water....
